This series, brought out by Takara for 2000, brought back areturn of the Autobots, known as Cybertrons in Japan, against the Destrongers, which were Transmetal 2 molds, except for Gigatron, their leader. Later in the series some vehicla Destrongers, the Combatrons, and an evil Optimus Prime, Black Convoy, join their ranks as well.
Hasbro is bringing this series and toys over with a few new molds for their 2001-2002 line, while they gear up for 2002-2003, and have renamed it Transformers: Robots in Disguise.
I have a large portion of this already... Stnkbomb and Cybershark from Beast Wars are stand-ins for Gaskunk and Gelshark.
Fire Convoy
The cab of the fire truck becomes Fire Convoy (Optimus Prime), while the back half can become a base(not pictured). Then the extra pieces from the truck that make up the base combine with him to become Super Fire Convoy.
Car Robot Brothers
Left to right (also youngest to eldest): Speedbreaker (Side burn), Mach Alert (Prowl) and Wildride (X-Brawn).
Spychangers
These are the RiD versions. Left to right: Wars (W.A.R.S.), Ox (Ironhide), X-Car (Crosswise), Counter Arrow (Mirage), Artfire (Hot Shot) and Eagle Killer (R.E.V.).
Team Shinkansen
The vehicle mode picture shows, from front to back, J-7 (Rapid Run), J-5 (Railspike), and J-4 (Midnight Express). Then depicted in robot mode is J-5, J-7, and J-4. Their train modes can link together for a speed boost as shown. They combine with triple fusion to form JRX (Rail Racer). These are the RiD versions, which lack the clear plastic of their predacessors.
Buildmasters
The Build Team is, going clockwise from the front, Build Boy (Wedge), Build Cyclone (Hightower). Build Hurricane (Grimlock), and Build Typhoon (Heavy Load). The four of them combine to form Build King (Landfill), but they have three different methods: Hurricane configuration, Typhooon configuration, and Cyclone configuration.
God Magnus
God magnus (Ultra Magnus) transforms from car carrier to robot mode. He also has a BFG, the Blue Bolt. He can also merge with Fire Convoy to form God Fire Convoy (Omega Prime).
Brave Maximus
Plasma (Cerebros) transforms into the head for Brave(both viewable on the left) who transforms into the head of Brave Maximus (Fortress Maximus)(right). Brave Maximus also transforms into a battleship and a city. In city mode Brave transforms into a communications room for the city. For an idea of the scale he goes from my waist to my chin when held.
Flipchangers
These are the RiD versions, obviously since Windsheer and Skyfire were never released in CR.
To the left are are Windsheer, and Indy Heat (Skidz).
To the right are Skyfire, and Wrecker Hook (Tow-Line).
Laser Cycles
Left and slightly behind is Axer, and on the right is Sideways.
Gigatron
Gigatron (Megatron) in cruiser, jet, dragon, bat, hand, and robot modes.
Destrongers
Two of the three "Beast brothers": Gushar (Slapper) and Gildo (Darkscream).
Commandos
These are the RiD versions of the Commandos combiner team: Back row:Heptor (Rotor) and Shuttler (Movor). Front row:Greejeebber (Rollbar) and Dangar (Armorhide).
They combie with their leader, Mega-Octane who has truck, base, and robot modes, to form Valdigus (Ruination).
Dreadwing
Dreadwind in front can transform from bomber to tank to robot, or combine with Smokejumper(behind) into the Dreadwing superjet.
